Who is this for?
Grow veggie with me is for anyone who wants a vegetable (or flower) garden, but doesn’t know where to start. Or, for someone who has tried growing veggies but has given up due to frustration or lack of success.

Do I have enough time for this?
It depends on how ambitious you are. You can have a very low maintenance, simple garden if that’s what you’d like. I have Multiple Sclerosis which include a hefty dose of ongoing fatigue as well as heat intolerance, so if I can manage a 200+ square foot garden, then I’m sure we can customize a garden that works for you and your life circumstances.

How much money will I have to spend?
It depends entirely on what you’d like to achieve and how much effort/time you wat to spend. Over the last decade, I have definitely spent some money on my garden, but at this point I spend very little since grow everything from seed under grow lights in my basement. I compost at home and supplement with some additional fertilizers, but I’m not spending much money at this point. Plus, I’m eating 100% organic vegetables instead of buying expensive ones at Wegmans.

Do I have enough space for a vegetable garden?
That’s actually the wrong question. Anyone who has enough hours of direct sunlight can grow vegetables, whether that’s in the ground or in pots. Calculate how any hours of direct sun you have in the Spring and again in the Summer, and I can tell you what will grow in those conditions.

I hate bees. Can I still grow a veggie garden?
Yes, but you’ll be very limited in terms of what vegetables you can grow.

Can you grow the veggie garden for me?
If you are located in Rochester, NY, I can certainly set up a veggie garden for you, and I can visit periodically as well, but you’ll still need to be involved. If you share your availability and desired level of effort with me, we can discuss how to make it work for you.
